UTP and Endless Access: A Partnership Fueling Digital Talent Through Game-Making
What happens when a university embraces educational innovation and partners with an organization that believes in creative, collaborative, and open learning?
Since 2023, Endless Access and the Universidad Tecnológica del Perú (UTP) have been working together to offer students a truly different learning experience: developing future-ready digital skills by creating real video games in a collaborative environment that connects creativity, technology, and meaningful learning.
This partnership has become a model for how institutions can evolve their educational approaches to keep pace with a rapidly changing world.
Video Games as a Real Learning Space
For UTP, working with Endless Access represents a strategic investment in new ways of learning.
“One of our most emblematic projects is the collaboration with Endless, which allows our students to develop skills for creating video games,”
— Jonathan Golergant, Rector of UTP.
Here, video games become a powerful medium for learning by doing. They integrate not only programming and design but also storytelling, teamwork, and communication.
Alejandra Rojas, UTP’s Director of Employability, explains:
“Video games are inherently collaborative and innovative—they tell stories and involve strong storytelling elements. There’s so much behind creating a game: from generating the idea, shaping it, and finally programming it. It requires a lot of creativity.”

Creating, Collaborating, and Learning Together
Through programs like Core: Threadbare and More: Threadbare, students work in multidisciplinary teams, contributing from different skill sets while developing future-ready abilities such as collaboration, creative problem-solving, communication, and adaptability.
Along the way, they learn to coordinate ideas, resolve conflicts, and work together toward shared goals.
“Technology has changed so quickly that students need not only technical skills but also teamwork, idea pitching, presenting, and communicating at every level,” adds Alejandra.
Creating a video game thus becomes a deeply formative experience. As one student reflects:
“This experience helped me open up more, ask more questions, collaborate with others, and really work as part of a team.”

From Idea to Playable Game
One of the most exciting moments in the program happens when ideas become tangible.
During GameLab, students develop StoryQuests, interactive narrative experiences following a structured process: defining the concept, target audience, story, and game design.
“First, we were given a template to build the game’s foundation: name, description, and target audience. From there, we built our story and combined all our ideas,” shares Ysamar, an 8th-cycle Engineering student at UTP.
Some of these projects have even become part of the official Threadbare game, turning learning into a real, visible experience for actual players.
“At the end of the program, students have a playable prototype—something they and others can play—which brings a lot of excitement and pride,” says Laura, a mentor in the Core: Threadbare program.

A Supportive Ecosystem of Confidence and Opportunity
While employability isn’t an official program outcome, the experience naturally prepares students for the professional world. Working in a real creative environment builds confidence and allows them to create portfolios based on collaboration and authentic creation.
Some participants take it further by joining the game development team as interns, deepening their learning within the Endless ecosystem.
“I chose GameLab because it was one of the options offered by the university. I entered and discovered a completely new, different, and amazing world,” shares Alexandra, an Engineering student.
Another participant, Diego, reflects:
“I feel incredibly happy, like a real video game developer. This experience helped me lay the groundwork for my own project. Collaborating with industry professionals and learning about collaborative development has been invaluable. I felt comfortable and free sharing my ideas, listening, and contributing as part of the team.”

Growing Impact
In 2025 alone, nearly 600 UTP students participated in programs developed with Endless Access. Each cohort brings new ideas, stories, and perspectives, strengthening a shared learning community.
Beyond the numbers, the impact shows in students willing to explore, take risks, and create.
An Invitation to Join
The partnership between Endless Access and the Universidad Tecnológica del Perú proves that it’s possible to design learning experiences that build the skills the future demands: experiences that are relevant, creative, engaging, motivating, and meaningful for young people.
This model can grow and adapt to new contexts, institutions, and communities.
