About Us

We believe that anyone can be a creator.

Our Story

From the start, our vision has been to empower everyone, everywhere, with the tools to thrive. Endless began as inventors, unlocking laptop access in emerging markets with our own operating system Endless OS [Link]. That foundation shaped everything that followed.

We soon realized that only providing access to technology wasn’t enough to realize our vision. Once people had the tools, they also needed the skills to use them. We challenged ourselves to create solutions that scaffold every step of the journey: from tools, to learning, to creation.

The Endless ecosystem continued to grow, and in 2020, the Endless OS Foundation was launched as a nonprofit dedicated to empowering the next generation of digital creators with everything they need to build a future-ready career: game-making skills, creative tools, and of course, digital access.

In 2025, more than a decade after Endless’ founding, we have evolved to become Endless Access,  a delivery-focused nonprofit that works directly with learners, educators, and partners to:

  • Equip underserved creators with the tools and mentorship to make their own games
  • Build community-led, open-source game projects
  • Expand device ownership through our Laptop Program

Though our tools and approaches have evolved to serve our global community’s needs, our values and our passion remain the same.

Our Mission

As a nonprofit, we empower the next generation of digital creators through our global game-making community and innovative tools that spark creativity, foster collaboration, and build future-ready skills.

Our Values

These principles guide how we build everything at Endless Access — our programs, our tools, and our community.

Everyone belongs.

Access and creativity are for everyone. Whether it is a first laptop or a first StoryQuest, every learner and every community has a place.

Play matters

Play lowers barriers and sparks curiosity. From experimenting with code in Threadbare to exploring new tools on a first device, play is how confidence begins.

Create for impact

We encourage learners and communities to build with purpose, connecting projects and programs to real-world challenges and opportunities.

Share often. Be open

Our work is rooted in open source and open licenses. We share our software, our curricula, and our practices so others can remix, redistribute, and grow them.

Reflect and refine

Every game, every program, and every device rollout is iterative. Feedback helps us improve, and trying again builds stronger tools, stronger programs, and stronger learners.

Learning is not linear

Growth takes many paths. Some learners start with Explore, others dive straight into Core or More, and for many, the first step is simply having access to a computer at home.

Affordable Laptop Program

Access is more than laptops — it is about tools, support, and real opportunity. Our Laptop Program helps close the digital divide by making computer ownership possible at scale, at a time when billions still lack a computer at home. Our team is committed to opening doors for first-time computer owners, ensuring they have not just devices, but the chance to learn, create, and thrive.

Open at Our Core

Endless was born in open source. Our first operating system, Endless OS, was built on Linux and GNOME so learners everywhere could have access to knowledge and tools — even without the internet.

Why open source? Because if knowledge is locked, it is not truly accessible. Scale is only possible when ideas, code, and content can be reused, remixed, and redistributed freely.
