Threadbare Unstitched
Threadbare is a 2D, pixel-art,narrative-driven RPG that is both a game and a learning platform.
Set in a world of missing memories and stolen stories, learners create the rich tapestry of stories that make up the world of Threadbare, then players step into the role of the Storyweaver and play those stories out. Threadbare is built with Godot and hosted on GitHub. Students can remix the code, create art and levels, write dialogue, and merge changes like a real studio. Contributions become part of the official game.
Players become the Storyweaver, called to Threadbare because the world is fraying. Torn by The Void - a darkness borne from the absence of stories. Memory loss, a lack of imagination, an the loss of spirit Creatures borne from silence and forgetting devour stories, traditions, and languages. Cities feel hollow. Songs fade, places are forgotten, names slip away. Only fragments remain.
The player's quest begins in Fray’s End, where the Eternal Loom guards the last threads of memory.
They will recover lost tales, restore words, and stitch meaning back into the world.
Threadbare is a living tapestry that holds languages, cultures, and traditions together. As they travel through the quilted landscape, they face creatures that feed on stories such as Storyvores, Ink Drinkers, and Woeverns. Each quest that learners create restores a fragment of what was lost.

On the players journey they will
- Navigate the Void - the nothing that remains when stories are forgotten.
- Face Voidborne creatures that consume language, memory and culture.
- Solve puzzles to open new regions and stories.
- Collect artifacts that reflect diverse and beautiful cultures.
- Reweave the world, one story at a time.

Pull requests, issues, code review, and project boards teach teamwork and planning.

Equity of access
Free tools and openly licensed resources lower barriers for schools and families.

Belonging
Many voices shape the world. Culture and language are woven in by the people who play and build.
