Threadbare is a whimsical world where learners become Storyweavers, playing adventures and creating stories, puzzles, and art to restore a world unraveled by forgotten tales.
We're building Threadbare, a whimsical, open-source game where learners 13+ become Storyweavers, shaping a world through real code, art, and storytelling. It's not just play, it’s meaningful creation.
Threadbare is a global, open-source community where learners, educators, and mentors co-create a living game. Every quest, minigame, and lore entry is a real contribution. Students collaborate using tools like Godot and Git—building the game, shaping the world, and growing together as creators.
Students build skills that go beyond: coding gameplay mechanics, designing player experiences, creating digital art, managing open-source projects, and iterating through real feedback. Threadbare and our curriculum learners the tools to build games—and the experience of building them together.
Threadbare is actively in development, both the game and its learning track are being piloted with partners right now. This is a community-built game designed for real learner contributions, and we’re looking for collaborators who want to help shape it. Whether you’re ready to pilot the curriculum or just curious to follow along, we’d love to connect.
