FAQ

Is it free?

Is it free? Yes! All of our curriculum is completely free, no fees, no paywalls, no catch. As a nonprofit, we believe everyone should have access to game design learning. Some partnership services like mentorship and training do come with costs, but exploring and using our content is always free.

How long is the Core program?

It’s an 18-session experience. Sessions run 60–90 minutes. You can run it as a full course, after-school program, or club.

Do I need coding experience?

Not for Core: MakeCode! For Core: Godot, some basic coding familiarity and comfort with GitHub is recommended.

Is Core connected to Threadbare?

Yes! If you're running Core: Godot, your students will soon be able to contribute to Threadbare, a shared, open source community game project. More on that [here].
